Two New Goonies Prints by James Flames Drop Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Mondo introduces a brand new artist to its roster, when James Flames' new prints for the Goonies are set to drop. James has done a lot of gig poster work, and some pop art work for other galleries, but this is his first Mondo print. He's an exciting artist, and his addition to the Mondo stable is a welcome one.

As for the prints at hand, Flames does a wonderful job recreating that feeling of wonderment that is present throughout the film.  The Goonies, or at least most of them, standing looking at the map with their bikes sprinkled around the floor, just nails the energy of the film. The titles are perfect, and the color on both the regular and variant work well.

Here's what he had to say about the prints:

"I love to tell stories with the things I draw, and the adventure of The Goonies is a hell of a big story to tell. My favorite part of any story is the peak of the set up – the part where the mood is established, the characters are coming into themselves, the scenery is starting to play a role, and it’s all at the cusp of breaking loose. And if it all stopped right there, your imagination has everything it needs to start coming up with all sorts of crazy scenarios on it’s own. Man, I love that part. This scene felt like such a natural place to stop for a second and remember how freaking awesome it was that these four best friends set out in their overwhelmingly large and intimidating world to follow a treasure map and have the adventure of a lifetime."

It's a nice debut print for Flames, and we hope to see more from him in the future!

Drop Info: These will be released tomorrow at a random time on Mondo's site.  They both measure 24x36 and are hand numbered. The regular is an edition of 250 and will cost $45, while the variant is an edition of 125 and will cost $65.  To those going for them, good luck!
